Three of Mzansi’s biggest female vocalists Lira, Nhlanhla Nciza and Moneoa have recorded a new girl power anthem titled “We Are One”.

In a rare stage performance, the trio belted out the thumping song together last night in Hyde Park, Johannesburg.

Sporting black gothic glamour ensembles and accompanied by female dancers, the ladies delivered a high-octane dance number that oozed plenty of “voulez-vous coucher avec moi (ce soir)?

The theatrical performance was reminiscent of the song Lady Marmalade – recorded by Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim, Mya and Pink for the film Moulin Rouge!

The ladies joked that if they were to form a girl group they will perform under the name Butternut.

The song was recorded as part of LUX South Africa’s latest “More Than You Can See” campaign, set to embrace women for more than just their outward appearance.

The brand hopes the song will inspire women to feel proud of who they are, confident in their own skin and being open to sharing their stories with the world.

TV/radio personality Pearl Modiadie was the host of the evening, while It-Girls such as Luthando “LootLove” Shosha and Nomalanga Shozi came to support the campaign.
