After achieving massive success in the past twelve months, gospel star Dr Tumi is going global.

Born Ntumisang Makweya, the singer, producer and composer has signed an international distribution partnership with Universal Music South Africa. It will see Dr Tumi's albums being released internationally under Universal label partners, Deff Jam Records and Motown Label.

According to Universal South Africa, the releases will be supported by an international tour in a partnership between Wave Records - owned by Dr Tumi - and Universal Music Group.

Dr Tumi said his dream had always been to have an extension to the rest of the world. "I believe it's the perfect time for the rest of the world to feed of our South African gospel music and hopefully this will be a gateway for aspiring South African gospel musicians.

"I am excited to have Universal on board and to grow in this new journey to conquer the world," he said.

Signing the deal will allow his music to reach a wider audience in Africa and globally.

Dr Tumi, a multi-award winning musician, released his album Love and Grace last year. It earned him 13 awards.

The tour will kick off in South Africa with a Live DVD recording planned for August 20 at the Ticket Pro-Dome.
