The South African Music Awards (SAMAs) are back at Sun City.

The awards show announced yesterday that the 23rd instalment of the ceremony scheduled for May 26 will return to their "home".

Last year's event was hosted in Durban, while the resort in North West underwent an extensive revamp. "It's such a delight to be returning to Sun City. The convenience it brings during a weekend of celebration makes it the ideal location for us," said organiser Nhlan-hla Sibisi, CEO of RiSA. "We invite local music lovers to join the industry as it makes its trip to Sun City later in the year for a party fit for our country and the continent's finest."

The province has partnered with the SAMAs hoping that it will contribute to the "Rebranding, Repositioning and Renewal strategy through Agriculture, Culture and Tourism (ACT).

"With a number of music lovers that the awards attract, the Bokone Bophirima (North West) province is sure to be abuzz with entertainment and loads of activities in and around Sun City," Sibisi said.
