Just weeks after an awkward Twitter error caused havoc at Power FM and shrouded Masechaba Ndlovu’s radio future in mystery‚ the station has confirmed that she will remain at the station.

Masechaba found herself in the midst of a social media storm earlier this month when a tweet from Power FM claimed that she could be getting the boot along with Lawrence Tlhabane.

“Tjoe bbz‚ they’re firing Masechaba and Lawrence and some other presenters‚” read the tweet.

The station claimed that its account had been “compromised” but refused to comment on Masechaba’s future to TshisaLIVE.

Power has now put speculation to bed after it announced a number of changes to its lineup.

“The changes are a reflection of the evolving needs of the station’s growing audience. We welcome the new voices to the station and thank all talent who have contributed to our growth,” Head of Programing, Ferdinand Mabalane says.

The new schedule confirmed that Masechaba would remain in her current role as host of the station’s evening talk show Power Life.

Meanwhile‚ Lawrence Tlhabane‚ who hosted the station’s breakfast show‚ was replaced by Thabiso TT Tema. Lawrence was announced as a stand-in presenter.

When contacted by TshisaLIVE‚ Masechaba’s manager Vusi Ndlovu said that the star had “no comment” on the station’s decision to keep her.
