Stars in tug-of-war over child

A well-known music producer has accused his ex-fiancee and the mother of one of his children of using their child to fight her battles.

The woman apparently promised to bring their child for the first of four visits to his home but failed to honour the appointment because " she didn't have a car seat for the baby" .

Speaking to Sowetan yesterday, the man said the soapie TV actress deliberately did not sign an indemnity form for a social worker to collect their one-year-old child from her home to take to his on Saturday to meet his family.

He said he was left devastated after he had put up a marquee and invited his family, including the child' s siblings, for a small welcome celebration for the little girl which did not happen.

"She refused, ducked and dived to sign the indemnity that we were supposed to sign in order for the social worker to bring the child," he said.

He said this was not the first time the lanky model had refused him access to his child as he was meant to spend some time with her over the festive season but it did not happen.

"I know she is using this child against me. I just don't know why because we broke up. I don't know why the bitterness and the vindictiveness because I look after my child."

The once loved-up couple ended their relationship last year in a highly publicised split after they had disagreements over a prenuptial contract ahead of their wedding.

He later rekindled his love with his ex-wife and their romantic second wedding took place last year in an exotic location .

The man said he has abided by the woman' s demands so that he could see his child, but nothing has worked out.

He said she asked him to arrange a social worker to visit her home four times for two hours at a time so that the baby could get used to the social worker who according to a court order was meant to be the child carer between trips to and from his home.

"These are all her demands; she made an excuse that the child does not know me in a meeting with a family advocate.

"She demanded I pay for a social worker to come to her house for at least two hours every other weekend.

"When that ended in December she created more drama so this was not the first time she sabotaged me."

He said the incident had hurt him and left him devastated.

"I am baffled by someone so beautiful and so talented with a budding career to continue doing such nonsense in private.

"I don't know if she thinks being on Generations and her profile will protect her from the ugliness she is doing to me, my family and her child." Attempts to get hold of the actress were unsuccessful.

Generations: The Legacy spokeswoman Gaaratwe Mokhethi said the actress was not going to comment on her private life.

"What I know is that she is currently one of our permanent cast members and is focused on that. If she is going to speak to the media it will be in regards to her career . that's why she has been ignoring your SMSes," Mokhethi said.
