Former Footballers' Wives star Chanita loves Jozi for its 'slower' pace

Chanita Foster pops out from the crowds as she stomps her way to the trendy Tashas in Rosebank, Johannesburg. Her unmistakably imposing height and wild mane makes her unmissable.

She settles down to tell me about how much she loves the city, the people and the energy. Joburgers may think that life is fast here, but Foster believes things are not as rushed and she likes that.

Foster, the former star of Footballers' Wives in the US, is in town to talk about her new book Girl I'm Not Tripping, I'm Depressed and her television show From The Bottom Up, on BET

Foster is a mother of six children and is married to former NFL player George Foster. She has been battling depression since 2014. Beating the demons and managing depression landed her on the show From The Bottom Up.

Her passion for women empowerment becomes obvious as she talks about Total Life Changes, a direct marketing company which seeks to make entrepreneurs out of women who sell good living products. She made $250000 in seven months with the business.

She works with agencies in Swaziland to help orphans and widows through her NGO Beyond the Game.
