Marah Louw missed the funeral of Thandi Klaasen to be by her daughter, Moratuwa's side.

Moratuwa's boyfriend Lucky Mashele was shot in a hijacking outside Louw's house in Mzimhlophe, Soweto, last Wednesday - two days after Klaasen's death. Mashele later died.

The couple had been dating for just 18 days.

Louw related her traumatic experience to Sowetan and how the whole thing unfolded like a scene from a movie.

She said even after a week she still could not believe that a human being died for his car.

Louw said she was inside the house while Moratuwa was outside with her boyfriend sitting in the car, which the attackers stole.

Police later recovered Mashele's vehicle in Zola, also in Soweto.

Louw said when she heard the first gunshot she thought someone was discharging firecrackers.

"In my mind I was like 'who is still playing with firecrackers this time?' But after the second and third shots, I realised that it was a gun," Louw said.

"I went outside, shouting Moratuwa's name. When she did not respond I started panicking.

"On my way to the gate I saw her come in. We checked on her boyfriend who was shot in the arm.

"He was bleeding profusely. I have never seen so much blood come out of a human being. It was thick ... it traumatised me."

She described Mashele as respectful and humble.

Louw, who currently stars on The Queen on Mzansi Magic, said she could not even attend Klaasen's memorial and funeral because her daughter needed her support.

"She is still traumatised by the whole experience. I am too. Ratu (Moratuwa's nickname) is going through counselling. I couldn't say goodbye to sis Thandi because of this."

Mashele was buried last week.

Police spokesperson Captain Phephi Matlou-Mthetho said the police had not made any arrests.
