Black Coffee wins big at AFRIMAs

Even though he didn’t walk away with an MTV EMA on Sunday evening‚ DJ Black Coffee was still all smiles after being crowned the best male artist in Southern Africa at the AFRIMAs.

The 2016 All Africa Music Awards (or AFRIMA) were held on Sunday evening in Lagos‚ Nigeria; celebrating some of the biggest acts on the continent.

And even though a long list of South Africans were nominated for awards at the prestigious event‚ only Black Coffee and Jimmy Dludlu walked away with prizes.

Black Coffee beat the likes of AKA‚ Anatii‚ Cassper Nyovest‚ Dizu Plaaties‚ Jay Prayzah and DJ Maphorisa and walked away with the Best Southern African Male award.

While music icon Jimmy Dludlu received the Best African Jazz award.

Nigerian artist Wizkid‚ who walked away with a MTV EMA Best African Act win earlier in the night‚ won the Artist of the Year award.

Bonang Matheba made sure that the continent did not forget about SA‚ with an amazing job as one of the hosts of the show.

She shined in an show-stopping orange dress and black head wrap.
