ProVerb says he went for counselling after divorce ordeal

It’s been just under a year since ProVerb and his wife decided to get divorced‚ and the rapper has once again opened up about the toll the separation had on him.

The pair decided to call it quits last December after a cheating scandal engulfed their ten-year marriage.

In the months that followed the separation‚ ProVerb lost himself in work and on a solo trip overseas.

Speaking to Gareth Cliff on CliffCentral recently‚ Proverb revealed that he tried therapy to help him cope with the ordeal.

“I did a bit of therapy for a short time but even him (the therapist)‚ I said to him; ‘Dude‚ next week is the last time I’m coming her because this can’t be my life’. It just feels like you come everyday to reopen the scab. No‚ I can’t relive this every week‚” ProVerb added.

ProVerb said that he wishes to believe that he is control of his life but said his biggest regret was that he wasn’t able to reach that point before the ordeal.

But does he still believe in love?

The rapper has previously been linked to former Miss SA Liesl Laurie. And even though he was shy to talk about his love life‚ he said that “if the stars” align he would get married again.

“I’ve come to know my value. Before you want someone who is pretty‚ who is hot‚ who is clever‚ who is ambitious and who will complete you. Now‚ I see myself as complete and I’m looking for someone who is also complete. Who is not looking to gain something by being with me and nor vice-versa. But rather to say that we are both complete in our own spaces and we just compliment each other‚” Proverb added.
