Vuyo Dabula's award-winning streak seems to be far from over.
The Generations: The Legacy leading man, who plays the villain Gadaffi, was announced the best-dressed man by GQ magazine on Monday night in Johannesburg.
An elated Dabula, in a fitted blue Ephymol suit, said the latest silverware has given him a surge of energy. "This has recharged me. This high-profile accolade has made me more eligible to marry with other brands," he said.
Dabula, 40, is the current title holder of SowetanLive Mzansi's Sexiest Man. He was also awarded the best hunk at the Feather Awards and Vuzu 10/10 crowned him the sexiest man recently.
"I should go back to modelling, that's where I started," he joked.
"Winning the best-dressed award is crazy. Last night was surreal, I was just gliding. I can only be grateful and take it all in. It's validation and I take them all seriously."
Dabula, from Mahikeng in North West, said his style was influenced by films and movie stars, as well as "all levels of art". He added that he listened to his designer friends when they picked apparel for him.
He defined his look in the magazine as his favourite fashion moment. "They put me in a Dolce & Gabbana suit and it was one of the best choices ever. I felt like a billionaire, an established artist who is iconic and has paid his dues and is looked up to for fashion inspiration."
Dabula said he always loved dressing up, even as a young man.
His favourite item to wear is a body-hugging, fitted shirt, he said.
Also in the top 10 is Sivuyile Madikana, a medical doctor at Hillbrow Community Health Centre's casualty and emergency. He said dressing up interested him and he hoped to inspire other young professionals to make an effort.
Although his signature look is tailored three-piece suits, Madikana said for work he opted for comfortable, smart casual. "One has to respect the patients and look good when they are sick. Your presence helps to uplift their spirits because of how you look," he said.
His favourite item to wear are Adidas tubular sneakers which he said are great for long shifts at the hospital and for going out. And his favourite designer is Lunga Khabanyane, who "gets" his gentleman look.
Others on the list are Cassper Nyovest, Linda Makhanya, Bradley Maseko and Hussain van Roos.
The glamorous soiree attracted celebrity female admirers such as Khanyi Mbau, Zahara, Tshepi Vundla and Blue Mbombo.
