There was no R5 million comrades‚ says Gigi Lamayne

Female rapper Gigi Lamayne who is one of the artists who were caught in the crossfire during the war between EFF leader Julius Malema and Mabala Noise owner Reggie Nkabinde has some strong opinions about the backlash.

Mabala Noise and it’s string of artists have been hogging headlines ever since Julius publicly accused Reggie of being embroiled in ‘dodgy tender processes’ and paying artists ‘no less than R5 million.’

Days later Reggie called an urgent press conference where he rubbished the allegations‚ however‚ the EFF on Thursday announced that it had opened a case of fraud and racketeering against the entertainment company.

Various artists belonging to the stable including Riky Rick and Khanyi Mbau have also come out to pour cold water on the claims.

On Friday‚ Khanyi stated that 5 million was inaccurate but she was given a “life-changing” amount of money.

Now speaking to Zkhiphani Gigi has also dismissed the claims.

“There was no 5 million comrades. I’m just putting it out there‚” she said.

The rapper added that she believes that people are shocked by the manner in which they have changed the game. “It’s a shock when someone comes into the industry and changes the game in a week. Then someone wants to take bread out of someone’s mouth for their political gain.”

Gigi explained that its about time that South Africans start thinking about whether the bashing is good for each other.

“As South Africans we just hate on each other and want to find the negative in every situation‚” she said.
