On Friday Malema took aim at Mabala Noise during a live press conference in Johannesburg.

Malema accused ANC Youth League treasurer general Reggie Nkabinde of paying artists in the newly established stable “not less than R5 million” to sign to the group and perform at ANC political events.

The EFF leader further added that Mabala is funded through dodgy government tenders.

During the press conference‚ Nkabinde rubbished the claims saying the company was consulting with lawyers.

“We are still consulting our legal team as to how to go forward. Julius grew up in jail‚ he likes being in jail so it’s a waste of time to take him to court. “

He insisted that Mabala Noise is an independently owned company.

Nkabinde also said that Malema's comments suggest that artists are "cheap" and "can sell their souls".

“Why would artists sell their soul for R5million. We will continue in our quest to ensure an African child continues‚” he added.

"I think that the myth that has been created there about Mabala Noise paying artists five million is not correct and I must indicate it's totally a lie because what does it do? It suggests that our artists are cheap, can sell their souls to companies for R5million," said Nkabinde.

"There's never been a weekend where Riky Rick is not working, just a weekend he maybe has three shows, when you calculate that in a month it tells you that Riky Rick as an individual, as an artist is able to make about R500 000 to R600 000 and that on its own suggests that Riky Rick can live a comfortable life."

Nkabinde went on to label Malema as jealous saying that he is opposed to black success.

“The day we take him to task he must be able to prove his statements, for now anyone who wants proof must go ask Julius‚” he added.

Mabala made big entertainment industry news when it signed the likes of Riky Rick‚ Gigi Laymayne and Nasty C to the label earlier this year. Mabala also brought Chris Brown into the country to perform at its marquee at The Durban July last month. It was there that President Jacob Zuma made an appearance and happily posed for selfies with fans.
