Prolific music producer and singer Robbie Malinga has decided to quit the mic and work from behind the scenes.

But, before he makes the move, the hitmaker will release one more album in time for spring.

The album will be a collaboration project including his chart-topping duets from over the years such asMthande with Musa Sukwene, the exciting Bengirongo and Thetha Nam' with Zahara, Kwenzenjani with Naima Kay, Sobabili with Kelly Khumalo, Impatho Yakho with Riot Zungu from Gang of Instrumentals.

He will also throw in a surprise bonus track of a new song featuring last year's Idols winner Karabo Mogane.

Having also worked with the legendary Monwa and Son, released the RoboDoc album with Doc Shebeleza, Malinga said he decided to be honest with himself.

"I know where my strengths lie. I have realised that my strength is being the man behind the music, so that's what I am gonna concentrate on from now on. I won't stop making music, except that I will not be releasing my own albums anymore," he said.

Malinga said he's had a good run since the days he sang with Fiso on Amahemuhemum.

"The evidence is all there. I have done great things when on the mic. However, I do even greater things when I produce for some of the country's amazing talent, and I will continue doing that."

Malinga said when he recorded Mthande with Sukwene he was already done with singing, but then Sukwene persuaded him to sing with him and the result is one of the most popular songs in the country currently. He has produced for the likes of Nhlanhla Nciza, Zahara and Nomfusi.
