“My journey wasn’t easy. I had been singing for a while without getting a break and then‚ because of the influence of motswako rap in Mahikeng‚ I decided I also wanted to rap.”

Fifi advises young women to work twice as hard to prove themselves.

“I had to cut some people out of my life because they expected me to give them something in return- because I’m a woman. My advice is work twice as hard to prove yourself‚ especially if you’re female‚ and pray often.”

The rap queen also opened up about recently joining the ‘singles club’ after breaking up with her baby daddy who she was with for seven years.

“It’s complicated because he couldn’t make sacrifices for me and understand the work I do. He would say I am always going out and partying not understanding that it is part of my job. It was a hard decision to make but if he can’t support me‚ then it means we are not meant to be.”
