DJ Black Coffee’s BET Award win over the weekend was not just a win for him but for the whole of South Africa. And so to celebrate the DJ announced that he will be holding a free gig for all his local fans.

Black Coffee took to Instagram on Tuesday to announce that he will be holding a celebration concert following his Best International Act: Africa win at the prestigious award ceremony over the weekend. But within hours of the announcement‚ tickets were gone.

The show will be held at Soweto’s Zone 6 on Thursday evening from 6pm till midnight. Due to demand‚ people were requested to apply for a free ticket from Nutickets in order to attend.

Fans who woke up to the news were left disappointed‚ as thousands flooded the ticket site overnight in the hopes of getting their hands on a spot at the show. Some reported that the show had sold out within an hour of tickets going live. The capacity of Zone 6 is around 3000.

There has been no word yet on whether additional tickets will be available.
