Local celebs defend Rivers Church pastor

Local celebrities‚ including Tumisho Masha‚ Lloyd Cele and Lorna Maseko have come out to defend the pastor of a Sandton church who made headlines in an apparent “racist” sermon.

Pastor Andre Olivier of the Rivers Church in Sandton‚ Johannesburg has caused outrage after his weekend sermon. And while many have criticised the pastor for his comments‚ local entertainers Tumisho Masha‚ Lloyd Cele and Lorna Maseko have defended the clergyman.

Musician Lloyd said that he was present at the sermon and claims that it had nothing to do with the criticism levelled against it.

Actor Tumisho was also present at the sermon and defended the pastor‚ saying he was in no way racist.

Top Billing actress Lorna Maseko also defended the pastor saying he is a good man.

Their comments come in the wake of criticism of the pastor by some‚ including from 947 presenter Anele Mdoda‚ who took to social media to voice their disapproval.
