Voting glitch tarnishes first The Voice SA win

The finale of the very first season of The Voice SA has been marred by yet another voting glitch on the popular talent search competition.

On Sunday night‚ with less than 15 minutes to go until the first winner of The Voice SA was to be made‚ host Lungile Radu announced that votes received on the night would not be counted because of “intermission problems” and that only votes tallied up until Thursday would be used.

Radu went on to add that this was as per the “terms and conditions” of the show.

Voting for the finale was changed to only allow votes via the website‚ mobisite and on WeChat‚ cancelling opportunities on sms and The Voice SA app.

As soon as voting lines were open‚ fans of the show used social media to speak out about their frustration in not being able to access the sites.

TMG Entertainment also tried only to receive an error message.

Richard Stirton‚ who was a firm favourite throughout the competition‚ walked away as the very first winner of the show. However‚ the internet has zoomed in‚ asking why the show was again hit by technical problems when it came to voting.

In May an “extra contestant” was added to the top 12 as M-Net confirmed in a statement that around 8000 votes sent via sms failed to deliver.

While M-Net has yet to give an official statement‚ the internet is demanding answers...
