Bonang Matheba may have had a weekend to forget but she says she’s determined to not let it “destroy” her.

Breaking her silence for the first time since she found herself in the midst of a weekend-long Twitter storm‚ the popular TV personality took to her blog on Tuesday to reflect on the weekend that was and gave fans a glimpse of how she copes with all the hate.

Looking back on the period‚ Bonang wrote: “I was tried on so many occasions over the weekend and it made me realise how easy it can be to lose track of things because of external factors; both in life and in the entertainment industry. And it’s also very easy to simply lose momentum and dwell on the noise‚ the hate and things that don’t build‚ but destroy.”

Bonang says that her mom taught her to keep a journal to help her focus on her goals and reflect on the progress she’s made so far.

She says that the journal has helped her remember her dreams when she is confronted by haters.

“We all need to go back to basics every now and then‚ and be reminded of all the dreams and why you started the things you are currently doing. The purpose‚ the intention and the reason why you embarked on this journey in the first place; whatever the journey might be‚” she wrote.

Bonang first found herself dragged into an argument between Pearl Thusi and AKA on Friday‚ when AKA responded to Pearl’s shade by telling her that “we dealt with you eons ago”. The “we” was interpreted by many as referring to AKA and Bonang. Later in the argument‚ AKA tweeted that he and his “woman have let a lot of sh*t slide.”

But just as the dust was settling on that Twar‚ Bonang once again found herself the subject of a Twitter rant‚ this time by her ex-boyfriend DJ Euphonik who took shots at her after comments she seemed to make about him in an earlier interview with Slikour.
