Hip-hop star Jabulani Tsambo‚ popularly known as HHP has on Wednesday confirmed to TMG Entertainment that he has paid lobola for his long-time girlfriend Lerato Sengati‚ and the wedding is set for September.
The pair have previously been shy to confirm any wedding rumours‚ after reports last month claimed that the couple got married in a secret ceremony.
HHP shot down rumours at the time‚ posting several cryptic social media comments and posts to suggest that the couple had not yet tied the knot.
During a telling interview with TMG Entertainment‚ HHP has confirmed the exciting news explaining that wedding preparations are already underway.
“I paid lobola about four or five weeks ago but I didn’t want it to be a big thing and for our love life to steal all the headlines‚” he said.
The musician is also in the process of a planning a massive bachelors party in Amsterdam in June‚ to celebrate his upcoming nuptials with friends ahead of the big day.
The exciting news comes just days after HHP opened up for the first time about attempting suicide three times in 2015.
Reflecting on that dark time in his life‚ HHP has since revealed that he contemplated suicide several times before those incidents last year. One such time included when the mother of his child decided on a split.
“I was on set when she left me and when I got back people asked me if I had smoked weed because my eyes were so red. The truth is that they were red because I had been crying”.
“I contemplated killing myself after that and my friend’s had to literally take the noose and tell me that from now on it would represent me hanging my old self. But me and my son’s mother are good friends now”.
The rapper is looking forward to the exciting future that lies ahead of him and Lerato‚ who he says has given him hope‚ and couldn’t have asked for a better life partner.
“Sometimes you meet someone who you can’t imagine living your life without and that’s what Lerato is to me. I can’t imagine my life without her. She’s all I think about. I’m in an amazing place right now. I feel lighter and I can’t wait to get married”.
