The suits are ready and the shades in place as the Kings of the Weekend (KOTW), DJ Sphectacula and Naves, march into the Durban ICC to stake their claim on some trophies at the Metros.

Sphectacula assures us that his and Naves's CSquared suits are ready.

Sphectacula confesses to some anxiety earlier on while campaigning for the awards, as he's not used to leaving things up to other people.

He says his apprehension stems from being nominated in so many categories, and their biggest concern was on which category they should focus on, or whether they should focus on them all.

The duo received five nominations in the categories of Best Group/Duo Album, Best Collaboration, Best New Artist, Best Music Video for KOTW Anthem and Song of the Year for their Kings Of The Weekend Anthem featuring Professor. Part of the live performers line-up have been at rehearsals since yesterday.

Their eyes are set on two gongs. "One is definitely Best Duo. I think Naves and I put in a lot of work in our joint career over the past six or seven years.

"So to get that kind of nod would be amazing for us. Because sometimes when you're in this industry there are times when you doubt that you're doing the right thing, or whether the path you've laid out for yourself is the right direction."

Then obviously, getting Song of the Year gong.

"I think Ngicishe Ngafa is a great song, and really deserves it ."
