Breaking her four-year album silence Lira is working on her next album and it's set to be her best one yet.

The platinum selling singer will give her fans an exclusive sneak preview of her latest work at her Evolution concert at Carnival City this weekend.

Sadly, they will have to wait until January when the full album will be launched locally. Then she plans to release it in Europe and the US in March.

Explaining the four-year journey, Lira said: "I wanted to be a global icon, that was always my plan ... I grew up in a world where I was limited by my skin colour, so I will not allow anyone to limit me now. It's not enough to know freedom, I need to live it."

Lira has remained tight-lipped about the title of the album, but it's sure to be everything fans have come to expect from the songstress and more.

There are deeply sultry love songs with phrases like "You're like a heavenly taste of sin" and inspirational jazz ballads with beats that will get even the rhythmically-challenged on to the dance floor.

In essence, Lira's next album will effortlessly transport fans from the bedroom to the pulpit, without the gaudy after taste of religion.

The year 2016 is undoubtedly going to be the year of Lira, with the release of her album, her debut on The Voice South Africa and then later the premiere of her reality series.
