Nyiko Shikwabane has quit the SABC1 talk-show Rise to concentrate on her studies.
Shikwabane is in her fourth year studying law at Wits and now wants to complete her degree first.
The 23-year-old was part of the show in its first season. She was part of the panel that included Kgomotso Matsunyane, Lebo Ramafoko and Khanyisile Mazibuko.
"I figured I should focus on my school work because I thought it would be too hard for me to do both at the same time," she said.
"But Rise was a great opportunity. It was quite intimidating working with such powerful women but I had a great experience."
Mbali Qotyana takes over from her in the second season.
