After nearly a decade long hiatus, the Duku Duku awards are back with the tag-line "One last time".

Baby-Joe, who is the organiser, said that he wanted to try out the awards for the last time after a number of people kept asking him to bring them back.

"People are always asking me when they'll return because they are the first awards that focused or catered for black entertainment."

In its absence, plenty award shows have emerged, such as the Feathers and the SYLBNA Lifestyle & Fashion awards but the Sel'mathunzi director isn't intimidated by this.

"There are never enough of these things. Our execution will be will be different believe you me, people will be fighting for tickets by time the awards come," he said.

Though not sure about the exact date, Joe said they should take place at the end of the year.

"They'll be more or less the same, just tweaked here and there."
