Ugandian comedienne Anne Kansiime Kubiryaba known as Anne Kansiime was in South Africa to host the second annual StarQt Awards Premier at the Joburg City Hall  this weekend.

Kansiime is known for her comedy sketches on Facebook and also hosts the Don’t Mess with Kansiime television show on East African television channel Maisha Magic East.

Kansiime performed on Saturday 30 May and judging by the social media reports her performance disappointed a lot of fans.

It seems the issue was not the comedienne’s material but rather the organistaion of the show. There were a lot of complaints about the cheap venue and the poor sound. The inability to secure tickets. It seems the promoter did not care to properly organise the show.

Kansiime apologized to her fans on Facebook:

For the very first time in my career, tonight I stood on stage and actually bled for my audience.
I felt pain and empathetic for my disrespected fans.

Having showed up with all the love and paid highly to enjoy your evening only to be disrespected by amateur organisation, poor sound and a very unapologetic and unremorseful promoter.

I just want to apologize deeply and sincerely for this disappointment.
It was beyond my control but still no excuse whatsoever for how everything turned out.
A LESSON WELL LEARNT.

I pray that I get an opportunity to make it up to you my dear ninjas soon and very soon.
In the meantime, I will not stop.
I WILL NOT STOP entertaining you every chance I get.

Special thanx to Rwamiti NTVUganda.
You were my hero today.

Some of her fans were forgiving and others didn’t want anything to do with her any more.

Here are a few comments :

"I was so disappointed with the organisers. Sound was tested when we were there. They are lots of venues that they were supposed to book for ur show. We paid alot of money but given a cheap venue, poor sound system. I will attend ur next show, hopefully u will get a professional organisers who dont just wana make profit and give audience bad service. THANK YOU FOR THE APOLOGY EVEN IF ITS NOT UR FAULT. Not even one of organisers apologized

After waiting for over 2 hours for ur performance I was bitterly disappointed by the turn of things tonight. I still luv ur work and ur sincere apology has been accepted."

" I'm not promoting nonsense, but here's an honest question...? -Dont u and ur team do a sound-check and site inspection on the morning of ur performance, like all other performers do? If the Promoter was personally disrespectful to u, shame him here by naming him and name his company too... -We (South Africans) are tired of chance takers..."

"Thank you for the apology but then again, you were also late for the show, your crew kept speaking (on the mike)back stage saying it looks like you still at the airport, 3 hours after the starting time. Nothing beats honesty, telling fans that you got held up and you on the way wouldn't have caused so much chaos. Very disappointed. Not to even mention the sound, I had to leave 30 minutes after u started cos it looked like u were not prepared to be on stage. All of you took us for a ride. Total waste of my time and money. After driving 400 kilometers to watch u, hah hah Mxm"
