Kenya concert cancels Csana

Afro-neo-soul singer Csana is the latest artist to feel the wrath of the current xenophobic attacks.

The musician has been pulled out of a Kenyan tribute concert for 147 victims of the Garissa University terrorist attack carried out by al-Shabaab terrorists two weeks ago.

Csana's publicist Thanduxolo Jindela said they were shocked to get an e-mail from Kenya during the week that Csana had been pulled out of the line-up.

"The organisers told me that it would be safer for both parties involved if Csana does not go to Kenya. They promised to compensate her for the inconvenience," he said.

Csana said she was deeply hurt. "When my publicist broke the news I was shocked. I really wanted to go and bring Kenyans and the people of Garissa together through my songs of peace and unity.

"I am disappointed because my music relates well to the people of Nairobi because it depicts Mpondo sounds relevant to the Masai tribe of Kenya.

"My country really has let me down because these attacks on foreigners have cost me a gig."
