Rumer Willis on online bullies

Rumer Willis was left feeling ''awful'' by online bullies but has learned not to base her worth on what other people think of her.

The 26-year-old actress - the eldest daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore - juggled working part-time at a Marc Jacobs boutique with acting and voice lessons and auditioning for roles after leaving college, but still felt judged for her looks and celebrity parents.

She admitted: ''It was really hard. I would read that stuff and feel awful. I thought, 'I don't even get a chance?' ''People still don't necessarily know that I work - they just have opinions.''

The 'House Bunny' star admits she was sometimes ''ill-prepared'' for life in the spotlight but still took the online abuse ''really personally''.

She told People magazine: ''I would go to an event and I didn't realise I needed to do my make-up,. ''Online, people really started getting ugly .... People always say, 'You signed up for this, you're an actor,' but I used to take it really personally.''

But these days, Rumer - who is competing on the current season of 'Dancing With the Stars' - has learned not to worry too much about what other people think of her. She added: ''If you let your value be determined by what other people think, you're screwed.''
