Move over Mbali Mlotshwa here comes Tsholofelo Semenya

Golden girl on the rise, Tsholofelo Semenya deserves a spot of the ‘young talent to look out for this year’ list.

She may have failed to secure a presenter gig with MTV Base in 2012 but she didn’t let that deter her.

The 22 year old radio personality and new Starbiz TV presenter says she just wants to live, laugh and succeed.

As an Honours graduate in Politics, she never imagined that her career path could lead to media.

“All that I am today, has come by chance I did not plan to be in broadcasting at all.

“I did undergrad in Politics and Economics. I was bored at school, honestly I don’t like studying I do it just to keep ahead,” Semenya said.

Her life blossomed when a friend introduced her to broadcasting.

“I was bored of studying; a friend of mine at Vow FM suggested I try broadcasting just to keep busy.”

She hosts a business Buzz show on the radio station. She says she is inspired by educating the youth on opportunities available to kick start their lives.

“I introduced this show to address issues affecting the youth. We tackle topics such as employment, career opportunities and profiles on different careers.”

“It’s important to create different talks besides entertainment. Young people don’t know how to budget their first salary or things like joining an investment account.” she said.

Semenya is also hitting ANN7’s television screens, taking over Mbali Mlotshwa’s Starbiz show; again she feels it’s a blessing.

“I did not go for any auditions, only went in for screenings after I was approached. I am blessed that the ANN7 crew allowed me to find my feet. I am not made to be another Mbali, Lootlove or Pearl Thusi.

“I am me, I would rather fail at being me.”

Looking into the future she has no plans, but has decided to trust God with her life.

“I am trying not to think about where to next, God has got it. All I know is its going to get bigger and better. I want to live laugh and enjoy my life.”
