Walmart wants to reach settlement with Tracy Morgan?

Walmart is ''committed to doing what is right'' following Tracy Morgan's crash in New Jersey last June.

The retail giant has reached a confidential settlement with the family of the former '30 Rock' star's close friend James McNair, who was killed when one of its trucks collided with the tour bus he and Tracy were travelling in last June in New Jersey, and it hopes to reach an agreement with the comedian, who was also badly injured, soon.

Walmart spokesperson Brooke Buchanan told E! News: ''We know there is nothing we can do to change what happened to Mr. McNair but Walmart and his family have worked closely together to reach an agreement.

''We will continue to work to conclude all of the remaining issues as a result of the accident and we are committed to doing what is right.''

The 46-year-old star - who filed his own lawsuit against Walmart last July because the truck driver was allegedly fatigued when the accident occurred - suffered a traumatic brain injury, broken femur, broken nose and broken ribs in the crash, and his lawyer recently admitted he is still ''fighting to get better.''

Meanwhile, Jamel and Danita McNair are happy with the outcome of their civil suit. Their lawyer Daryl Zaslow told the Chicago Tribune: ''[Walmart] accepted their responsibility by making this family more than whole.

''They caused extensive damage to this family and more than stepped up to the plate and took care of this family. Ultimately they did the right thing by the McNairs.''
