Owner of Afrotainment music label Mthokozisi Khathi popular as DJ Tira is not impressed with MTVBase Africa’s list of successful local rappers.
The list had DJTira’s in such a state that decided to take his fury to Twitter:
“...Not 2 long ago they included @DuncanSkuva on Best MC's in Africa & 2day he is no where to be seen on #SAHottestMCs2014 which list is BS?”
“Whoever produced this #SAHottestMCs2014 Top 10 really messed up & if @MTVbaseAfrica cared bout their reputation they will do something...,” he continued.
DJ Tira was not the only one who had a bone to pick with the channel, hipsters like Zakwe and Cassper Nyovest were amongst the highly angered musicians over Duncan’s exclusion.
These fellow artists took their anger to Twitter, asking Sizwe Dlomo on how the Tsiki Tsiki singer was not on the top 10 list.
Zakwe said he finds the list upsetting. When he recalls that his friend made it to the Africa’s hottest MC list but in Mzansi he failed to crack the MTV’s selection of hot local rappers.

Cassper Nyovest tweeted: “Actually!!! What about Okmalumkoolkat??? What about Duncan ??? He had the 4th best selling album inda country at one point. #SAsHottestMcs
MTV Base Sizwe Dlomo did not appreciate DJ Tira swearing.
Tira's my dude & he knows I respect him but to now start swearing like this is not the way. #SAHottestMCs @L_Voicey @DJTira, he wrote.
Duncan dropped three hot singles Tsiki Tsiki, Mithatha featuring DJ Tira and Tsiki Tsiki Remix.
He is one of the new comers pushing kasi rap with a mix of 90’s kwaito.
