Australian hip-hop artist Iggy Azalea lost her cool outside a Los Angeles grocery store after a photographer refused to stop following her every move.

A heated argument erupted outside the store after Azalea and her friend caught a photographer who had been stalking them the entire day, lying on the shop floor while she attempted to purchase eggs.

The female friend who had accompanied Azalea to the store shouted at the photographer and insisted that he leave them alone.

"Just because she's a celebrity doesn't mean you have the right to follow people," screamed Azaleas friend.

The photographer approached the woman and during the heated exchange the woman spat on him.

A fourth party who seemed to be acquainted with the photographer recorded the whole incident and agreed with the man that he was assaulted by the spitting woman.

"Yeah, that's assault, if you have AIDS, I got AIDS now; maybe I got EBOLA," shouted the photographer.

At this point in the video Azalea, who had remained quiet throughout, broke her silence in defence of her friend. "I hope you have EBOLA, I hope you die, you f#$@ng C#*t."

Azalea had enough of the verbal attack and attempted to chase the 'intrusive' photographer away with her trolley.

She then tried reasoning with the photographer and argued that although she is a celebrity, he was invading her private life.” You’re invading my life; you're in a store where I’m tryna buy eggs. No! that's not the way it works sweetheart, that's not what they want, you're pitiful..."

The photographer refused to back down, "You think you just gonna get the red carpet, you're not gonna get the red carpet, they want your private life. Then don’t be famous, go live in Nabraska, no paparazzi there.”

Azalea posted the following statement on Instagram in her defence

"Something is only "the way it is" for as long as one ALLOWS it to be. What I'm comfortable consenting a paparazzi do doesn't require anyone's opinion but my own. I don't see why that's hard for some to fathom. Judge me for spazzing if you like but you only saw the 30sec aftermath which was classy in comparison to what he said to us inside the grocery store where we discovered him lying on the floor after we had repeatedly & politely asked him to leave multiple locations during the course of the day. I don't hate paps, just the really aggressive ones... I only treated him the way he treated me all day. Fair is fair playboys and girls," said Azalea on Instagram
