The third annual Sylbna Lifestyle and Fashion awards were a complete flop, and saw many celebrities who bothered to show up walking off the show.

The awards, held at Gold Reef City in Johannesburg on Saturday, were plagued by endless problems, from the projector meant to show the nominees list switching off, to bad sound quality, no performances and nominated celebs not showing up.

Musicians meant to perform included Thembisile Ntaka, iFani and Winnie Khumalo, who, according to co-founder Jabulani Hlathi, pulled out because of bad sound quality and lack of funds.

"I don't blame them. When our sponsor pulled out and we couldn't pay the artists, I knew we were done," co-founder Jabulani Hlathi said.

Celebrities who didn't show up for the show despite being nominated included Pearl Thusi, Somizi Mhlongo, Bonang Matheba and Maps Maponyane.
