Khanyi Mbau in relationship limbo

Splitville or not, all she knows is that things are a bit unclear in her relationship right now.

Sowetan LIVE caught up with Khanyi Mbau behind the scenes whilst shooting season 2 of her talk show titled ‘Katch it with Khanyi’.

On a one-on-one chat, we spoke about the recent media reports on her relationship with ‘Kwela Tebza’ star Tebogo Lerole.

Queen of Bling and Tebogo have been the highlight of rocking celeb couples with some viewing them as the 'Jay and Bae' of South Africa so the public interest in their love life comes as no surprise.

The bubbly Mbau in a very open manner says she is aware of the talks about her relationship and she sadly is in no position to talk about her issues as she is occupied by work and also trying to figure out what is going on.

“I am not in a position to deal with what is going on in my relationship right now, I am not in the loop, and once I have it figured people will know,” she says.

“Only my immediate people know what I’m dealing with - but I know that I do owe people an explanation,” Mbau adds.

Recent reports in Drum magazine and Sowetan have cited ‘financial issues’ as the main cause of the alleged ‘rift’ between the two lovebirds.

Close sources even told the Sowetan that the now ‘broke’ Tebogo has been reduced to running errands for Mbau.

"Tebogo stays at home with Khanyi and their home is not big enough for everybody,” the source also said.

The couple has had to deal with many challenges since getting together in 2011, one of which being Mbau’s ‘gold-digger’ past.

"Older men disrespect him. They send bottles of Champagne over to our table while we're together, greet me and simply refuse to acknowledge him," she told Sunday World during an interview last year.

However while the relationship is hanging in limbo, Mbau has shifted her focus to her life on set, currently shooting her talk show and appearing on Mzansi Magic’s Lokshinbiskop.

“I am so busy I don’t have time for myself. I am excited about my season two of my talk show where I interview people and host real talks.

“I offer a platform to talk about anything. I am a sinner have made many mistakes so I try to question people about dark things and every else..”

‘Katch it with Khanyi’ airs on eKasi+ (OVHD 105) on OpenView HD on Fridays at 18:00.
