Colombian actress Sofía Vergara gets to show off her cooking skills in her latest movie ‘Chef’.
The movie tells the story of a Chef Carl Casper suddenly quits his job at a prominent Los Angeles restaurant after refusing to compromise his creative integrity for its controlling owner.
He teams up with his ex-wife (Vergara), his friend and his son to launch a food truck. Taking to the road, Chef Carl goes back to his roots to reignite his passion for the kitchen and zest for life.
The all-star cast includes Sofia Vergara (Modern Family, The Smurfs), Scarlett Johansson (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Lost in Translation), John Leguizamo (Romeo + Juliet, Ice Age), Bobby Cannavale (The Bone Collector, Parker), Dustin Hoffman (Hook, Meet the Fockers), Oliver Platt (Dr Dolittle, X-Men: First Class) , Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man, The Avengers) and young actor Emjay Anthony (It’s Complicated, No Ordinary Hero: The SuperDeafy Movie).
Vergara who is known for her sexy looks confessed her love ‘creative’ cooking during an interview with the mirror.co.uk recently.
“I don’t always have the time if I come home late or I’m travelling a lot. When I’m not working, I love to take the time to make my favourite meals,” she said.
“Lots of casseroles and potato dishes. I like to be very creative... sometimes too creative,” she added.
The film has received great reviews so far with the Rotten Tomatoes' audience giving it 90 percent with an average rating on the "Tomato Meter" at 7 out of 10.
Film lovers can catch it at their nearest Ster-kinekor theatre from 8 August.
