Justin Bieber has posted three quotations from the Bible on his Twitter and Instagram which state that salvation and forgiveness can be found in God.

The 20-year-old pop star has made two public apologies in the past week following the emergence of the footage of him making a racist joke to friends in one clip and singing about killing a ''n*****'' and joining American white supremacist group the Ku Klux Klan in the second video.

Now, Justin has made a post on his Twitter and Instagram accounts of a photo of three Bible passages all stating how salvation and forgiveness can be found in Jesus and God. One of the extracts from the Gospel of John - found in the New Testament - reads: ''But If we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his son, purifies us from sin. John 1:7.''

A second passage from the Gospel of John states: ''When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, ''I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.'' John 8:12.'' A third quotation comes from the Book of Isaiah which is found in the Old Testament.

It reads: ''I delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. Isaiah 61:10.''

The 'Baby' hitmaker also quotes an extract from the book 'Jesus Calling' written by missionary Sarah Young. In the wake of the emergence of the second racist video - made when the singer was just 14 - Justin issued a statement to The Sun newspaper saying he needs ''step up and own'' his actions and accept responsibility for his mistake.

He said: ''At the end of the day I just need to step up and own what I did. Facing my mistakes from years ago has been one of the hardest things I've ever dealt with. But I feel now that I need to take responsibility for those mistakes and not let them linger.''
