NASA's Curiosity rover is making global headlines as it travels uncharted territory on Mars, and it will venture into new realms back on Earth this week when it premieres a new will.i.am song.

The Black Eyed Peas rapper's tune "Reach For The Stars" will be broadcast live from the surface of Mars, via Curiosity, at 20h00 GMT on Tuesday to a news conference at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California.

The debut of the song, described as an ode to the singer's "passion for science, technology and space exploration," will be linked to an educational event in which members of the Curiosity team will explain the song's transmission across space to students, as well as the rover's overall mission.

The project is a collaboration between NASA and the rapper's i.am.angel Foundation, which aims to provide digital resources in classrooms from kindergarten to Grade 12.

The foundation will announce a new science, technology, arts, engineering and mathematics initiative featuring the Mars Curiosity Rover and other NASA assets.

For real fo real.....you just can't trust NASA ....if the moon landing was real they would have gone there at least every 5 -10 years like they do with other 'space missions'. For that reasons I didn't know how to feel when I heard of Neil Armstrong's death.

Oh my, our conspiracy theorists are at it again. I wonder where Apollo 11 got the moon-rocks from that have been analysed all over the world from? The McDonalds in Silverton?

Good on Will-i-am. It is so nice to see a successful young man with so much talent being a role model to the young. We really do need more young men like him.

@Dzel -The original moon landing was fake.There is enough evidence on the internet to back this claim.80% of what you hear in the media even till this day is specifically engineered to condition earth's citizens do believe and do the bidding of the select few who are known as the Illuminati.

@Dzel - if there is no air in the moon, why was the flag waving? if Neal was the first man to land on the moon, who was taking the pictures when he was coming out of the space craft? asking out of interest nje.

There was a camera on the 'legs' of the landing craft
They fumbled the flag and the telescope type wire that was to hold the flag straight didn't come out properly which left 'ripples' in the flag.

By the way, there is an atmosphere on the moon, not much of one and not enough to create (what we call) wind, but it is there

The americans show Neil putting a flag there, the russians would have indicated that they could not find any on the moon, and they could have gone to claim being the first on the moon, please explain man cause i took the story as fact man.

I hope u dont confuse the first man made object to reach the mooon(USSR did it in the 50s) and the first man landing on the moon(neil in 69)
