Complete is a musical group made up of soprano Bonginkosi Zulu, alto Happy Motha, tenor Linda Thobela and bassist Bubele Mgele.

The group is known to employ a standard response when asked about their unique sound: "Our fans say we are complete without the musical instruments."

Complete shared the Lyric Theatre stage with popular musician Zahara, poet and musician Kabomo and Mozambican singer Isabel Novella at the weekend.

"We met in high school," Mgele says, "and have been singing together ever since."

The group has collaborated with various artists across genres, including internationally recognised choreographer Gregory Maqoma.

Mgele adds: "In 2008, Sanza Loate of the Manhattan Brothers introduced us to Bra Hugh Masekela. We have subsequently performed with Bra Hugh on several occasions.

The group has also worked with gospel musician Pastor Benjamin Dube.

Mgele says the highlight of their collaboration with Dube was featuring in one of the icon's albums, High Praise.

The group will take part in the Arts Alive Festival scheduled for September.
