Reincarnation of Lundi

Aug 3, 2012 | Canaan Mdletshe | 8 comments

Gospel music golden boy Lundi Tyamara promises fans heaven on Earth tomorrow when he, together with other gospel stars, appears at Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg for the first Ukhozi FM Gospel Concert

For as long as God is on your side, great things will happen to you

"I am so excited about the opportunity," Lundi said.

"I promise the people of South Africa that they will see the best of me.

"I want to thank God for the second chance (He gave me). This will be the most opportune time for me to praise The Almighty. Those who make it to the stadium will see a changed Lundi. I will give them my best."

Lundi's life has had its ups and downs, and some had already written him off in the music industry. But like a tennis ball he has bounced back with a bang.

"People can write you off and make conclusions about you, but for as long as God is on your side, great things will happen to you ... and that is how I feel because all sorts of things had been said about me ... but God has not forsaken me. I am proof that only a car can be written off and not a human being," he said.

Artists such as Sipho Makhabane, Hlengiwe Mhlaba, Solly Mahlangu, Sfiso Ncwane, Kholeka, Rebecca, Sechaba, Thobekile, Winnie Mashaba, Pastor Ncanda, Keke, Sphiwe and others are billed to perform.

Sensational queen of gospel, Rebecca Malope, will mesmerise her fans with a 60-minute performance.

With 7.2-million listeners, Ukhozi is the country's biggest radio station. Yesterday, Vuka Mzansi's Linda Sbiya, Jabulujule's Dudu Khoza, Nethezeka's Mroza and Woza's DJ Sgqemeza were broadcasting from Jabulani Mall in Soweto.

They will be broadcasting from Ebony Park today.

LUMADI

Canaan Mdletshe, please leave Lundi alone, surely there are other artists you can write about. He has heard enough of media writting bad things about him. This is his tme to shine now and to show that he has got talent tht no one can ever take away from him, no matter what he does. God given talent cannot be exchanged for anything. He is talented. Lets keep on supporting this our brother as he deserve another chance just like everyone else.

The problem I have with the gospel music in this country is that in most cases those who sing it are not even saved, they are just doing for the sake of money and fame. Lundi not to say I judge you but you are not supposed to be singing gospel, period..
