All have a valid point and Ashifashabba hit the nail on the head as to the root of the problem, under the divide and rule system of apartheid we have been socialised to believe that other nations are inferior and even those nations who are viewed as such have also accepted that they are indeed inferior, for example Ndebele's Tsonga's Vendas wouldn't dare speak their language in public they would either speak Zulu or one of the Sotho languages and speak their language in private but I am glad that this is now slowly changing people are conversing freely in their languages it will gradually come to music as well. I believe that that strongest influence is that of parents they need to expose their children to their own languages, music and culture and they will always love it - most people still love the music they heard growing up eg Caiphus and Letta will always be a favourite with me any day I need to lift my spirit I listen to them I also do listen to Dobie Gray and many will find this embarassing but I grew up listening to him that is the power of influence from a young age
