Usher standing strong following stepson's death
Usher is "standing strong" following the death of his 11-year-old stepson Kyle Glover after he was critically injured in a jet ski accident.
Kyle Glover - the child of Usher's ex-wife Tameka
Raymond and her former partner Ryan Glover - passed away
after the family made the heartbreaking decision to turn off his life support
machine two weeks after he was critically injured in a jet ski
accident.
Although Usher is devastated by the loss, his godfather Ben
Vereen said he is holding up as best he can.
He told the Huffington Post:
"I'm proud of [him] because he's standing strong. It's a terrible thing when a
parent has to bury their child. No parent should ever have to bury his or her
child. So please continue your prayers for him and [his] family for strength and
healing."
Kyle was struck in the head during a jet ski collision while
riding an inner tube on Lake Lanier in Atlanta, Georgia.
Last week,
Kyle's family asked for prayers as they kept a bedside vigil following the
tragic accident.
They said in a statement: "We know God's in control, and
are leaning on our faith in Him and His word at this most difficult
time".
"We firmly believe in the power of prayer and ask that you all
continue to pray and lift Kile up, as it's the best way we can all support him
now."
Usher and Tameka divorced in 2009 after two years of marriage, and
were in the middle of a bitter custody battle over their sons Usher Raymond V,
four, and Naviyd, three.
However, they are understood to have put their
differences in the wake of the accident.
