Moegoe 'comedian' tells female audience member that it would be funny 'if a bunch of guys just raped her'
A female heckler at a comedy show was told by comedian Daniel Tosh that it would be funny if she was gang raped.
Tosh was in the middle of his act at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles last Friday when he quipped that rape jokes are always funny.
A woman at the show shouted: 'Actually, rape jokes are never funny!'
The comedian shot back: 'Wouldn't it be funny if that girl got raped by like, five guys right now?
'Like right now? What if a bunch of guys just raped her...'
The account of the exchange at the club was posted by the woman on a Tumblr account. Tosh said his remarks were taken out of context.
She wrote: 'I did it because, even though being 'disruptive' is against my nature, I felt that sitting there and saying nothing, or leaving quietly, would have been against my values as a person and as a woman.
'I don’t sit there while someone tells me how I should feel about something as profound and damaging as rape.'
On his Twitter account, Tosh wrote: 'All the out of context misquotes aside, I'd like to sincerely apologise'.
He followed up his first tweet with another clanger, saying: 'The point I was making before I was heckled is there are awful things in the world but you can still make jokes about them. #deadbabies'.
