Sandton City Ster Kinekor visitors got more than they bargained for as they waited in line for their refreshments last night [Wednesday 11 July].
As they reached the front of the queue they were served by none other than one of South Africa’s most beloved actors and Mad Buddies co-star, Alfred Ntombela.
Showing his support for the film, now in its 3rd week of release, the diminutive Schuster side-kick with the iconic laugh showed that he was willing to muck in and help support his film.
Says Ntombela, "Mad Buddies is doing great at the box office and this is one way I am showing my appreciation to the South African audience!"
Starring as Minister Mda, the hapless and accident-prone Minister of Tourism in Mad Buddies, Alfred joins local stars Kenneth Nkosi and Tanit Phoenix in a comedy road-trip filled to the brim with the kind of physical comedy and side-splitting hysterics that have come to define the much-loved Schuster brand over the years.
To date, Mad Buddies has garnered over R18 million at the local box-office, a figure that, after the same amount of weeks in release, surpasses Schuster’s most successful film outing, 2010’s Schuks Tshabalala’s Survival Guide to South Africa.
The film is currently in cinemas nationwide.

In his early 40's, they say. He is like those 2 Nigerian short guys who look like kids while they are old.

The survival guide was promoting Zille and DA, while shaming Malema and ANC. It was more political than being funny. Mr. Bones is still the one and only. Could be the best movie ever in SA. Well, one can say Tsotsi is, but I did not like that one either.

Well I did not enjoy the Malema and Zille parts, I loved the scene where people were hired to to put make up on corpse and where he put a huge snakein a shop, and the taxi scene where he rocked up with a coffin and as well as that part where a soccer team had gone for medical check up - I thought those where hilarious. I loved Mr Bones 1 but 2 yena sucked big time, thats just me. Tsotsi no for me

There were stricter laws and technology was used before this movie was released. Those who filmed it using cellphones in Cinemas were arrested. No wonder the sales are this good. Pirates are the losers in this case.Report Abuse
