Police have identified the 19-year-old man who was fatally shot outside a suburban Atlanta hospital as a rapper known as Lil Phat.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the rapper - whose real name is Melvin Vernell III, of Sandy Springs - was fatally shot.
Sandy Springs police spokesman Capt. Steve Rose said that police are searching for two men seen fleeing the scene. The victim was found shot in a car parked on the second level of a parking deck next to the hospital. He was pronounced dead shortly afterward. A motive was not known.
Lil Phat was featured in rapper Webbie's 2007 song, "Independent," which also included Lil Boosie. The song, which praised a woman's independent nature, peaked at No. 9 on Billboard's 100 and topped the rap chart.

No Bra Fats hiphop is not to blame for individual's action, this rapper talk a lot of crap on thier music and expect to get away with it, they alway down play broke nigg@s or people who have less money than them and brag about how they toke someone girl away from him in a club on thier albums, this is why most of this rapper are forever scared to visite thier old hoods as they know they offend lots of nigg@s in thier hood. If a rapper gets shot in a parking lot know that it's someone his offended at some point to his rise to fame, don't blame hiphop but blame the haters and thier culprites.
