As long as our local film makers are not willing to tell our stories, international producers will continue buy1ng our stories and bring in their own actors to tell our stories, they are still many untold stories that our film makers can make and bring in our local actors, question is will they or will our local industry continue to moan about what they don't initiate. SA local film industry needs a lot of cash injection. Apart from that we need to start supporting our own. Have you noticed how full cinemas are when its an international film compared to locally produced one???

@MsKinkyakaKamaSutra, I think part of the problem is we no longer have enough Cinemas in townships or residential areas, back in the day growing up in Tembisa we had at least 2 movie theatres but now everybody has to go to some mall for any Cinema experience. One big problem in SA and why our entertainment industry will never grow as big as other countries is our business model, were things are still exclusive to certain areas, if you want to get music or watch movies at a theatre you have to travel to some mall which in most cases it's out of your area. Remember back in the day when Cry Freedom and Sarafina was released theatres in townships were packed during the premier of those movies, back in the day people didn't have to travel out of their way to get to the nearest theatre, today we are all expected to be mall-rats. How do you tell a story of love between winnie and someone else's husband? For TD Jakes i am shocked to say the least. Surely the story could have been told differently, without focusing on the Untold love of the couple that has since divorced and the men has gone on to marry another woman.
Comeon now!!!! Did they ask the Mandela family about this???? What about mama Graca's feelings, or nobody cares, just as long as there is money to be made?Mhhhhh Report Abuse

@Sboro, the who made it big in the movie industry were people willing to take a risk. Tyler Perry a few years ago was sleeping in his car and he took a risk to make movies. He is now one of the richest people in the movie business because he was willing take the risk. That story is yours' if you are willing to take the risk to tell it. Black actress in any part of the world can play Winnie if the director and producer want to cast them in the role. The American role of Scarlett O'hara was given to an English actress and not an American actress because the people making this movie was willing to take a risk with her. In this business of movie making the stars are the ones that put people in the theaters so, that is why Hudson was given the role. Report Abuse

@Dictator, you are right in your comment many people look at the glamour of movie making but this is a lot of work, casting the actresses, writing the script, getting finance and getting the movie released in the movie houses. Report Abuse
