MY GOODNESS, why do women go gaga over George Clooney? Handsome, my foot - the man is greying. But one thing for sure is that big old George's acting skills surpass those of all Hollywood stars. That's my view and unfortunately you can't convince me otherwise.

And I'm certain he'll make a better James Bond than the rest of the pretenders we've seen so far (except for Scotsman Sean Connery, of course).
George's a suave, sluggish charmer (he reminds me a lot of my former self) and looks like a man who takes his time to do or say anything.
A man in no rush but who seems (underline the word "seems") to have a vivid picture of where he's headed.
Women adore a man like that, save when their biological clocks are ticking and he seems to be dragging his feet to pop the question. Yep, I've been watching him dish out one great performance after another, year in, year out, and I'm an ardent fan.
Like in Ocean's Eleven (2001, 2004 and 2007), Good Night, and Good Luck (2005), Syrianna (2005), Up in the Air (2009) and, my favourite, Michael Clayton (2007). Needless to say, most of his films get nominated for prestigious accolades.
Well, George continues where he left off - and he's firing from all cylinders of clinical acting - in The Descendants.
As Matt King, the "back-up parent" to his two girls (Scottie, 10, brilliantly played by Amara Miller; and Alex, 17, outstandingly portrayed by the mesmerising Shailene Woodley), with whom he's not close, his ageing appearance suits his character.
It's the right kind of grey, which says he's seen that, done that. you finish the sentence, clever flick fan.
Matt is a lawyer based in Honolulu, Hawaii, and the only trustee of a family trust that owns a vast pristine land on the Kauai island.
The family, comprising a long list of cousins, have decided to sell the land, but just when they have a ready buyer, Matt's wife, Elizabeth (Patricia Hastie) meets a boating accident that leaves her comatose.
Her doctor reveals that she'll never wake up from the coma and recommends that she be disconnected from the life support machine.
Then it surfaces that Elizabeth was having an extramarital affair.
This discovery sends the deal into a tailspin as Matt learns that the man Elizabeth was cheating with, Brian Speer (Matthew Lillard), a real estate agent, will receive a big commission from the sale of the land.
Everything about The Descendants is on point: the cinematography, the script, the acting, the direction, the score . you name it.
Just to tantalise your movie taste buds, George has already collected a Golden Globe statuette for his stupefying showing in the movie.
Oh, and the film is in line to scoop five Oscars in a few weeks. Well done, George. You deserve an Oscar in the Best Actor category and you'll get it. Wanna bet? Now let's see if we can apply some black die on those grey areas. Shame, poor George.
