PRODUCER par excellence and DJ, Black Coffee, will hoist the South African flag high at the MTV European Music Awards, showing them how we can "scratch" down here at the southern-most tip of Africa.

Other artists representing the continent are Angola's sensation Cabo Snoop, the Democratic Republic of Congo's Fally Ipupa and Wiz Kid, who have been nominated for EMA success for the first time.

Added to these are multi-award winning nominees Jennifer Lopez, Foo Fighters, Jessie J, ColdPlay, CÉ, Eminem, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Kanye West.

Lady Gaga, the darling of the showbiz industry, snatched six nominations for this year's awards. She's followed closely by Katy Perry and Bruno Mars with their four nominations.

British songstress Adele, the top-selling artist of the year, has been nominated for three awards, while Justin Bieber and Thirty Seconds To Mars are trailing closely behind.

The 18th annual MTV EMAs take place on November 6, at Belfast's Odyssey Arena.

It will be aired on MTV channels across the globe.

South Africans will be able to view the awards ceremony on both MTV (channel 321) and MTV Base (channel 322).
