8 reaching for top spots in Class Act

EIGHT actors from Gauteng have made it through to the national call-back list of those vying for the two top spots on the popular Class Act competition.

Joburg was the last stop for Class Act season two auditions.

Four men and four women got the nod from the judges, award-winning actor and director James Ngcobo, Rapulana Seiphemo and Moonyeenn Lee in the last leg of the auditions.

The eight contestants are through to the national call-back, which will be broadcast during the fifth episode on Saturday.

All in all 36 contestants from all over the country made it through to the callbacks and will be vying for a spot among the top 10.

The top 10, five ladies and five men, will feature in a series of mini movies every week. The winning couple will be cast in a new Amstel Lager television commercial, win an eight-week scholarship to the New York Film Academy, star in a new movie directed by Donovan Marsh and they will also get representation from (Moonyeenn Lee Agency).

Joburg contestants through to the national call-back are: Nontsikelelo Ndzume, Angelique Carlinsky, Bhekinkosi Khoza, Phelelani Mzimela, Rosa Whitcher, Petronella Tshuma, Austin Shandu and Pallance Dladla.

Following the national call-back episode on Saturday, elimination shows will be screened on Monday evening from May 30.
