One of those already intending to dominate this glittering event is the increasingly popular Lady Gaga, who is bowing under the most nominations in the awards' history - 13 in total.

Hot on her heels is another heavyweight, Eminem.

First time nominees include Justin Bieber, Drake, Kesha, B.o.B Florence And The He Machine and Mumford and Sons.

Lady Gaga has been nominated for Best Pop Video, Best Female Video and Best Dance Music Video for her global chart-topping hit Bad Romance, featuring Beyonce.

Coming off the success of his latest album, Eminem is this year's most nominated male artist. He has been nominated for Best Male Video and Video of the Year for Not Afraid.

Newcomer Kesha has been nominated thrice for Tik Tok, while up-and-coming rapper B.o.B has an impressive five nominations.

Teen sensation Bieber is nominated for Best New Artist for his hit single Baby and Jason Derulo for In My Head. Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Pink, 30 Seconds To Mars, Katy Perry and Usher are also nominated for Moonmen this year.
