Brothers do doesn't do it
Party night promise ends up being no great shakes
LAST Saturday evening, your two girls were invited to the Night with the Brothers concert at the Emerald Resort and Casino in the Vaal.
We braved the icy cold weather, put on our dancing shoes and headed off to the dooh. It proved to be an interesting start to the night, with the organisers giving us bad directions and GPS just not finding the address.
Despite the cheap drama on the way, your two girls finally arrived at the casino. At first we thought we had missed the concert.
Haibo, the place was so empty, clearly people from the Vaal do not understand the meaning of the words: party until the next day.
No celebs in sight, though the line-up of artists seemed promising. Theo Kgosinkwe, Ntando, Jaziel Brothers and the newcomer, designer-turned-musician Rjkay's Reggie Molamu, rocked the stage and the empty seats.
The concert itself was a boring, silly excuse to waste money. I mean we could have gone on a shopping spree in Sandton - the artists, however, tried to revive the handful of a crowd.
The sound equipment was bad, it was loud, you could not hear the artists.
Molamu was all black, short of being Goth without the piercings of course.
One has got to wonder if the crowd was cheering for the guy because they loved his sounds or is that people from the Vaal have this warped sense of music. They danced to every tune.
He rocked the stage with his afro-jazz tunes and his salsa dance moves.
Hunk Ntando wore a black suit, and looked all metro-sexual with his dreads neatly tied up.
He did rattle the girls a bit - they had to scream their lungs out for him.
Good to see he still has a following.
Jaziel Brothers were completely drowned out, you could not hear a thing - their bright blue jackets did not do them justice as they damaged the eyes when they came in contact with the lights.
When Theo came on stage, like they did for Ntando, the crowd screamed. But the guys were screaming more than the women, literally melting, I found this weird. Tjo, they should just be strong.
It's always nice going out and having a good time, though the concert was not really up to my standard.
I think I should look up a proper word to describe it.
