That's surely a spat in the face of the Premier of the Western Cape (Helen Zille) who has seen it fit to deployee an All White Male cabinet.

I agree with Lindiwe 100%! A truly free and advanced society looks after its women and the vulnerable.

In countries like Sweden and Norway and woman can walk down an empty street at 3am and she will be safe. In South Africa she wouldn't get three meters before she is gang raped.

During the struggle, women were so strong and fought so hard. Remember the slogan "touch a woman you touch a rock"? What has happened since then?

The ANC womens League is too busy supporting Jacob Zuma and his corrupt cronies so that they can chase tenders. What is the department of woman and children doing besides going on expensive overseas trips?

Women shouldn't vote for party that doesn't serve their interests.

Our newspapers are really pathetic. This article has nothing to do with Lindiwe, personally I know that she or the DA have no programmes to combat r.a.p.e and abuse of women and kids. This is just a publicity stunt. Like the skills development programmes they 'implented' the issue will go no where. The shadow parliament is not even a shadow anymore. Our politicians really do not care for the state of female safety in SA.

Its time that we heeded Annie Lennox and us sisters start 'doing it for themselves'. The SA women are the strongest and most capable in the world, we need to stand up for each other and stop waiting for someone else to do it for us. We cannot be forever volunteers for victimhood

You need to learn to read...I said politicians. Please do not drag me into a stupid political slugging session. This is about a very important issue....r.a.p.e. You really need to get a life and have the common sense to know when to do your political party allegations sessions. Our women are under siege and you have the indecency to be petty!

The Earth Farm needs good citizens, simple as that. The Earth Farm needs people who will care for and love one another; the government cannot provide unfortunately.

It is the responsibility of each and every parent to raise their children as Humans; otherwise, how do you expect them to behave as such?

This is unfortunately one teaching that starts at home and nothing will ever change that; not even you Lindiwe.

Off topic Lindiwe are you related to Zahara or are you her older sister, with your looks you can be passed as her sister...

Until we educate and empower both parties we will still have problems we are facing today, we must remember both black male and female came from the same oppressed back round, it's not like the black men was better off during apartheid. To live men behind in your empowering programs only breeds another nation of un-empowered young black men who end up packing our jails. An un-empowered and ignorant man in South Africa is a ticking time bomb that once left to fend for themselves they become a dangerous breed...

Jaja, you made the allegation about the DA doing nothing first and all I asked is what is the ANC doing?? It is alright for you to raise the question but not me???

What are your solutions? What are the ANCWL doing? what is the Department of Women and Children doing? The ANC are bringing traditional courts back which will take the emancipation of women back a 100 years.

Women shouldn't vote on race but they should vote for the politician and the party that helps them and supports them.

Women can't leave the problem of r.a.p.e up to other people to solve. They must make a big noise and demand action. Men must also support them but look what happens when the showerhead, the top dude in the country has been accused of R.a.p.e.- a great example to the rest of the men and boys in the country.

@Fred55, "a great example to the rest of the men and boys in the country. "

Why is it that a few who do bad represents the majority of men doing good in this country, why is Zuma's stupid shower action a representation of all men in SA, does this mean all us SA men are rapist as you say. What have you done fred to help stop this, I know I'm taking part in the man in the making programs to help young black men educate and empower themselves, I work in IT and mentor a couple of young boys who are still in school, the boys are allowed to come over on Friday which during working hour I spend time with them showing them some of the robs within IT and help them find a career path within IT. Like I said we need to empower both parties to help end this problem, someone has to educate the boy child and this is were we come in....

JJQ: It has everything to do with her. She wrote it, and has been offered the same opportunity as was extended to several of your mates in the ruling party. She is writing a column touching on the prevalence of gender violence, which I think any political party MUST recognise as becoming rampant in our once beautiful country, and if we want our country to get where we all want - a place of peace and safety for EVERYONE. Not just connected MEN, then one needs to put this particular angle beyond our political lilmitations. Just a thought.

Ms Mazibuko: I do not and probably won't ever support your party, but I take my hat off to you. This piece is well argued and tackles a phenomenon fast becoming a daily feature of our media.

I didn't say all men in South Africa are rapists but ti seems that on average more women are raped in this country than other countries.

I said that is not good to have a president that has been accused of r.a.pe. We need good role models to lead our country in spheres of life. Well done on doing your bit!
