IT SADDENS me to see our youth following the path of self- destruction.

Now that is a very well thought out article. Those calling for nationalization does not have the best interests of the country at heart. The only thing they are thinking of ( as proven by the Zimpopo scandel ) is that they want to enrich themselves. Limpopo province was a testing ground to see how much can be looted and how long it can take

Sadly, doesn't look like this has been a well-read article with only two comments. A pity, because it is very relevant. If Zimbabwe's method of governing had been successful then we could understand why SA would want to pursue the same path, but Zimbabwe is a complete disaster. Starvation and death face us if we continue blindly following the ravings of uneducated buffoons like Malema. Where will we all flee to if SA goes the same route as Zimbabwe? Nationalisation hasn't worked anywhere in the world - why would we be any different?

Agree. Generation Y is lazy. They don't want to refine the minerals. Or manufacture the minerals. They think that the limited amount of ore we export can make every single youth a director or CEO of a mining company somewhere. They don't want to work. Just sit on their behinds and watch the money poor in.

@ Osirus in Zimbabwe they turned food factories into squatter camps, it shows by the millions of starving people.

and then you only have to look at the great econimic experiment in the USSR.in all those countries..it failed. They have ALL gone back to a system where you are rewarded for your work and ability. You need to read up on North Korea brudda it is a true cummunist state where everything is still nationalised.....

people should not be misled by a neo liberalist who claims to speak on behalf of the SOUTH AFRICAN youth,South Africa is leading interms of unemplolyment rate, only the elite and the bourgeiasis will comment as she commented, any ideoloogical principle which can be implemented wrongly will not serve its purpose and nationalization is not differnt.,Venzuela has nationalized the oil company and other strategic sectors and they are doing well,,If Botswana can own 51 percent of their mines why cant we ?the research shows that the is a need to improve our education curriculum and to do that you needn a massive finance whr will you take that kind of finance?goverment is keen to improve the rural areas and township still you need finance to achieve that...Singapore is regarded as country which is doing well economically but people dont know that govermennt of singapore own close to 85 percent of land,,,,the writter mentioned that nationalization will chase out investors but investors wher the during the arphatied regime wen SA was regarded as unstable country ...please dont always believe what people are saying you rather do your own research .south africa it should be a socialist country down with capitalism

@Osirus: you are correct,People understand that Zim won indipendence with a barrel of a gun they never bagged that country fom their oppressors, thas that they gained political power in 1980 which i difine it as half zim . now strugle continues for economicaly power that will complete the zim black strugle. understand that zims are suffering coz there in economical war. once they they aquiore the whole Zm they start building their own country. The strugle continues, and victory is certain in Zim.Dont tel us about investors and democracy when we are in war.we are economical refegues. In zim mines are not nationalised its only Zim impowerment at its best. Its a motion of majority shares to the Zims.Wake up Africans and stopcritisising good principles. Those who say Zim issue is a failler are very much oblivious o the future and they lack wisdom or are supremacist supporters
